Theresa from Queens needs to know, "Why I haven't you updated vanessaknows.com in 2 months?"

Well Theresa, I've been busy with my day job but I was actually going to update the site this week. In fact, this very night I felt there was something that everyone needed to know, warning I might regret sharing this later. I think the Upper West Side is a food destination. Tonight we went to Bloomingdale Road in the 80s and Broadway and I have to say how excited I was to have a place like this in the neighborhood.

Unfortunately we weren't starving so we couldn't take full advantage of the restaurant but we definitely have plans to. The atmosphere was great. There was a great bar, a tv for those who can't leave their football, big tables for groups and even tables for 2. The kitchen was open and you got to see the action first hand and everything that came out of the kitchen which all looked delish. We went there specifically because we read that much of the menu was organic and grass fed and weren't disappointed. I had the steak with fries but what made it special was the bone marrow sauce (couldn't make that up with my best imagination-YUM), Ed had the porkchop with grits and an orange sauce (WOW-it had a little kick) and Jill had the salmon with a sweet potato puree. For dessert we compromised and had the peanut butter and jelly tart with marshmallow ice cream. I had the ice cream, they had the tart. Portions were smaller but enough. They are that way in order to get to taste as much as you can. Bloomingdale Road is an enormous treat. I can't wait to go back.
